Christmas 2008

We had a very busy but wonderful Christmas this year. As great as it was to be surrounded by family and friends, I sure am glad it's over with! I hope everybody had a blessed Christmas and wish nothing but the best for the New Year!

So, I finally found a scanner that I could use. Here are some pictures from our last ultrasound and a pic of my bump!

Baby Bump - 20 weeks, 3 days

Boy or Girl - Round Two

Well, I know it's one or the other - but which??? I DON'T KNOW! Baby Doyle is either a stubborn little boy or a very modest little girl. Those have to be my options, right? We went back on Thursday for a better anatomy scan since Wednesday's didn't turn out so well. The good news is that Baby Doyle (and Mama) are very healthy and things are progressing very nicely. The bad news is that Baby Doyle likes to keep it's ankles crossed (JUST like it's Mama) and wouldn't uncross them for anything. We go back on Jan. 6th for our next appointment and we'll do a "gender determination" ultrasound (read: $$$ out of pocket, not covered by insurance). Once I can get my hands on a scanner, I'll upload pics from the ultrasound - we got some great shots of our little baby (fill in the blank)!!!

Boy or Girl? We STILL don't know!

Yes, it's true. Baby Doyle wouldn't cooperate today. We STILL don't know what we're having! We had our 20 week appointment today with our anatomy scan - and don't you know that Baby Doyle wouldn't move!!! It was curled up into a little ball and seemed to be very comfortable right where it was at. We tried everything - laying on my right side, laying on my left side, propped up, sitting up...nothing. Although we did get to see the heart beating and it's arms & legs moving, our ultrasound tech wasn't able to get any measurements at all. We try again tomorrow at 1 PM. Wish us luck!!!

Dentist Visit

I think Baby Doyle takes after his (or her) mama. He (or she) HATED being at the dentist today! For a couple of weeks now I've been feeling the "fluttering" everybody talks about. But, it mainly consists of a tap here, a pop there...nothing consistent at this point yet. Well, today at the dentist was a different story! I'm sure it had more to do with the position they lay you in, but Baby Doyle was NOT happy! He (or she) tossed and turned from the minute I laid back in the chair to the time they sat me up. As much as I hated being there, I still really enjoyed experiencing all those feelings!

17 Week Update

I had another appointment today - I was in and out in 30 minutes! That NEVER happens there! Heartbeat was still very strong...158 bpm. But, more importantly, we find out whether Baby Doyle is a baby girl or a baby boy at our next appointment!!! Finally!!!

In other exciting news...I finally have a bump! I know, I know...everybody kept saying "Don't rush the bump!" Well, I couldn't wait and it's finally here! It's not that big and not that noticable in some outfits, but I know it's there! I'll post bump pics once I get a good one.

We Finally Heard It!

Today's appointment went very well! They were finally able to hear the heartbeat using the Doppler - it was beating between 166-170 bpm. The doctor said it sounded "fabulous"!

I have to admit - I've been very blessed with this pregnancy...not one day of morning sickness! I know, it sounds too good to be true. But, I'm hoping that since I'm just days away from being out of my first trimester that I have completely bypassed the morning sickness! (Just to clarify...I haven't always felt GREAT, but I'm not getting sick!)

My next appointment is on November 19th. I'll update more soon!

Sweet Baby Jessica

We have a new addition in Wally's family! My sister-in-law, Wendy, gave birth to sweet baby Jessica on Sunday, October 19th. She was 6 lbs., 11 oz., 18 inches long and is one of the prettiest babies I've ever seen!

10 Week Update

Nothing real exciting to update - I am 10 weeks today and still feeling great! My next appointment is on October 21. Until now we've only been able to see the heartbeat (and it's ticking away beautifully!) and I'm excited about being able to actually hear it soon!

We Can't Believe It!

It happened so quickly! Wally and I found out a couple of weeks ago that we are going to have a baby! I've been to the doctor multiple times for blood work, exams, ultrasounds, etc. and everything looks great! As of today (9/16/08), I am almost 8 weeks along putting my due date at the end of April - an anniversary baby? - or beginning of May - born on Daddy's birthday?

My next appointment is Thursday, 9/18/08, for another check-up. Here's a picture of the little one!



We thought that this blog would be a great place to keep friends and family updated about how the three of us are doing. I also wanted to thank everybody for their love, prayers & support over the last couple of months. It's been a rough couple of months but our prayers have been answered!!
