Sunny Days!!

I know this happened way back in March, but I still needed to blog about this for my own sake. Caroline and I drove to Charlotte on Saturday to meet Brooke, Matt & Sadie Smathers to see Sesame Street Live. Wally wasn't able to make it this time - but we sure missed him!

We had a wonderful afternoon even though little Sadie Bug was sick! We had amazing seats - 3rd row back on the floor and nobody in front of us.

I have to admit - I did tear up once the show started. I know it sounds so silly, but I was just so excited that I get to start doing these things with Caroline now. The first of many shows, plays, movies...

2 Year Check Up

We had Caroline's 2 year check up last week and she's a growing, healthy little girl! And, I do mean little. This is the first time since her 1 year check up that her "well" visit wasn't also a "sick" visit. Hard to imagine!

Stats:

Weight: 25 lbs., 15 oz. (25%)

Height: 34 in. (50%)

Head: can't remember measurement, but 75%

Talking:

As much fun as it would be to list all of the words she says (like in previous posts), I would be here for weeks. If you've ever spent any time around Caroline, you will know she's a talker - a very clear talker, at that. She talks literally from the time her eyes open in the morning to the time she shuts them at night. And often enough, I hear her chatting in her sleep. It wears me out, but I wouldn't have it any other way as this eliminates all communication meltdowns. She is putting together 5-7 word sentences and usually you can see that she is actually thinking about what she is going to say next. It's a look in her eyes.

Milestones:

• Size 5 diapers (well, 5's are too big, but 4's are too small); 2T tops, 18 month bottoms (if they are leggings), 12 month bottoms (if they are shorts)


• 16 teeth are in; the top 2 two-year molars are poking out, but no sign of the ones on the bottom


• Can count to 20 (except it's not "twenty" it's "eleventeen")


• Can sing the ABC's


• In a toddler bed (she LOVES it - another post on that later)


• Working on potty training - has gone pee-pee on the potty 3 times (yes, I bribe her iwth a marshmallow even at 6:45 in the morning) and her new classroom actively trains them daily


• Imagination has exploded - played hairdresser with me the other day and tells me "Don't touch hair again. You go to time out." HAHA! How many times do you think she's heard me say that?


• Caroline is VERY bossy - I'm not sure if that's a milestone...or it should go under the "Things Caroline Likes" category since she really seems to enjoy it.
  
  

Things Caroline Likes:

• Sesame Street and Mickey Mouse Clubhouse


• Her new toddler bed


• Singing - can sing in its entirety: ABC's, Twinkle Twinkle, Row Row Row Your Boat, Itsy Bitsy Spider, Rock A Bye Baby


• Her Bitty Baby - she's got a new crib and mobile for her that she loves to play with


• Drawing - loves her new easel that has a chalkboard on one side and a dry-erase board on the other


• Helping mommy ("My do it.")


• Bathtime


• Playing outside and going for walks


• the almost life-size Minnie doll that her Aunt Wendy let her borrow


• Breakfast & snacking


• Men - she talks about Uncle Brodie and John Martin all the time

Things Caroline Dislikes:

• Getting her hair washed


• Dinner


• Being dropped off at school in the mornings - this makes it hard for mommy, too


• Not getting her way...HAHA!

Gosh, I can't wait to get a new camera. That may be what you hear every time I post a picture from here until eternity. Or, until I actually get a new camera.

Anyways - we like to play "Show me your ____ face" with Caroline.

If only she looked this sweet and innocent when she was truly angry!

Hi, Long Lost Friends!

It looks as though I have lots to catch up on! I've got lots to post about and will be re-joining the blogosphere. Not sure why everything slipped away from me so easily, but I have to continue to blog for my own sake, if for nothing else.

Here's what you can expect an update on over the next couple of days. I think I can, I think I can, I think I can...

Just an FYI - these won't be picture heavy posts as I seem to have a POS camera. But, Mother's Day is right around the corner...hint, hint...
