15 Month Check-Up

Caroline's 15 month check-up was last Friday and it actually turned into a sick visit,as well!!! She had been very snotty (both nose and attitude!) so I just assumed it was a sinus infection. Turns out, her throat was red and her tonsils were swollen! They swabbed her for strep!!! Thankfully, that all came back negative. They still treated her with antibiotics and we're all better now.

All ready for the doctor!

Stats:
Weight: 21 lbs, 10 oz. (25%)
Height: 30 1/4 inches (50%)
Head: can't remember measurement (50%)

Milestones:

  • Size 3 diapers & 12 month clothes
  • Has a questionable appetite - she will eat tremendously well for days, then eats like a bird other days
  • Favorite foods: BANANAS!, yogurt, cheese, hot dogs, any kind of snack (she's a snacker), instant oatmeal, Nutrigrain bars
  • Can feed herself with a fork and spoon - and usually doesn't need my help!!!
  • A great talker, although doesn't "babble" a lot - since my last post, she's added: Mommy and Daddy (instead of Mama and Dada - but sounds more like mom-eeeeeeeeeee and dad-deeeeeeeeeee), juice, baby, bye, Collier, up, thank you, love, Wally & Dana (ughhhh...), bath, cheese, hairbow and socks. Also says: shoes on, shoes off, hold me
  • Can sign 7 words: more, all done, milk, nite-nite, bath, thank you and eat
  • Can point to most body parts
  • Has 12 teeth (that includes 4 molars)!!!!
  • Can climb onto the sofa
  • Can throw something away on command (this has come in VERY handy!)
  • Still working on weaning from the paci - she usually ONLY has it for nap time and night time

Likes

  • Her lovey (this usually goes everywhere around the house with her)
  • LOOOOOVES to dance (see pictures below)
  • Helping with the laundry
  • Blowing kisses
  • Trying to put her shoes on - seriously, she will do this for hours and NEVER gets frustrated

Dislikes

  • The pool (this makes me sad because I love the pool)
  • Being told "No!" - who likes that anyways?
  • Having her diaper changed - talk about FUN TIMES!!!

This is her dancing to Itsy Bitsy Spider - you can't tell but her little CD player is in front of her. She knows how to turn it on and play music and she will sit down in front of it and dance. This was her "down came the rain and washed the spider out" move.

And this is just her dancing. She points her fingers and shakes her whole body. She is TOO CUTE FOR WORDS!!!
We are having SO much fun with her now. She mocks everything you do and say. And she's starting to be a very lovey little girl. I was beginning to wonder about that for a while!!!!
