First Trip to the Beach

If you know me, then you know I HATE the beach. I hate being that hot. I hate the sand sticking to me. I hate chewing on sand for hours after you’ve left. I hate cleaning up. But, I love to see my baby girl happy. So…to the beach we went!! The Martins invited us to go to Surfside Beach with them and of course we couldn’t pass up their offer. If nothing else – we were with GREAT company!!! Miss Dawn and her family were there, then Wendy’s brother and his family came, too! Wally couldn’t go – he was out taking calls all day so he missed Caroline’s first trip to the beach. Boo. The whole time I was there, I couldn’t see the screen of my camera to see what I was taking a picture of…but I have to say – they turned out pretty good!

Caroline actually did very well. I was a little worried because she took a very quick little nap on the way there – and by quick I mean like fell asleep while I was trying to find a parking spot. But, we got out there, got all the kids lathered up with sunscreen, they played with their toys, took them to the water for a bit (NOT a fan), then came back to the tent to eat lunch and play some more!!! Then, the grand finale – a wagon ride with Reed!!! Oh, and Caroline at a LOT of sand. I was really surprised that I didn’t see it in her diaper. Maybe Ms. Joyce at school had the pleasure yesterday. HAHA!
