Wow - I can't believe I lost 3.4 lbs. the first week. Go me. I know each week won't be like this, but this sure gave me a kick in the rear to get it going. I actually had a great week. It helps that Wally is doing it with me because it makes meal planning a thousand times easier.
I've done really well this time around, too, finding filling meals rather than just throwing some random foods together. One night last week, we had rice, PF Chang dumplings (frozen food aisle) and broccoli for 7 points! And we both were way full when we were done. I think I could get used to this.
Another thing that's been helping me on my journey is keeping up with 2 of my besties, Meredith & Wendy, who are also doing the old-school point system with me, too. We try to keep each other in the loop about what we're eating throughout the day. It's two-fold, really - (1) you get some awesome ideas for meals and (2) you have to fess up when you've been a bad girl.
Wally and I were actually able to go out to eat one night. We went to Chick Fil A and found low-point options for each of us.
Speaking of going out to eat - we are allowing ourselves to splurge one day a week on a meal. Yesterday, we went to Mellow Mushroom for lunch after church. And, you know what, I think I've learned my lesson. That pizza was entirely too greasy and we both felt pretty gross afterwards. So, maybe not quite so big next time. :-)
PS...Wally's done well, too! He lost 5 lbs. the first week!
