2012 was a busy year for us. I wish I was able to have documented more of our activities, but it's hard to do when you're the one behind the camera AND trying to soak up every single second of every single day. Here are some highlights:
January: Anna was baptized as a newborn and welcomed into the Lord's family. Beautiful day with family and close friends & lunch afterwards at Magnolia's!
February: Celebrated Valentine's Day with my three loves (one love not pictured...haha!...sorry, Wally!) and returned to work after a nice, long, 10 week maternity leave.
March: Went to Columbia to celebrate a childhood friend's wedding. The Three Musketeers were reunited again! Me, Dianne Turgeon, Beth Hedrick
April: One of my most favorite holidays - Easter! First time dying eggs with Caroline and who could forget about those cute little chocolate bunny Easter dresses? My second favorite holiday in April is, of course, Caroline's birthday! She turned the big 3, going on 13, this year. We had a fine dining experience at iHop, then went to play at the park and the big reveal of her big girl bike. That she still won't touch.
May: this month was a little slow, but we still had some awesome visitors come into town. My aunt Gayle and her two beautiful girls below - Lindsay & Morgan
Also known as the month we forever went into debt. Haha! Just kidding - Wally traded in his 2001 truck with 200k+ miles for this beauty. A truck that seats the whole family with lots of room to spare.
June: Caroline had her first dance recital. I thought it was going to turn into a major disaster, but she sure surprised us all. She was a STAR!!!
Also, in June, we made the trip to Tell City, IN for a family reunion. Caroline go to ride horses for the first time (and loved it!), play in lots of sprinklers and baby pools and eat & drink to her hearts content. Poor ol' Anna just had to enjoy it from afar. It was waaaaaaaay too hot.
July: Caroline attended her first Vacation Bible School at Oakey Swamp Baptist Church with our dearest friends, the Martins. To say she had a blast is a huge understatement. She LOVED it. Anna was able to participate, as well.
August: This was another slow month, but we figured out that Anna has a hatred for being in the grass!!!
September: Caroline began real gymnastic lessons again. This is a year-long course, not just the summer sessions she's done for the last 2 summers. She is a rock star. I really think this will be her "thing". She is super strong!
October: This was by far the busiest month, I think. Lots to do - Charlotte Smathers' birthday party, Virginia for Collier's birthday party and the South Carolina State Fair, Halloween to just name a few. Blog posts to come later about being in Virginia and going to the fair. Caroline LOVED the fair.
Let's not forget these two cuties for Halloween - a flamingo & a ladybug!!!
November: Another one of my favorite holidays - Thanksgiving! The only holiday where nobody looks at you funny for eating as much as you do. What's not to love!?!? We also had our first real Santa Claus pictures and a fun trip to the zoo
December: Last but not least, the busiest month of them all. The girls stayed sick almost the entire month of December, but we didn't let that slow us down. We had breakfast with Santa, celebrated sweet Anna's first birthday, lots of Christmas festivities and Santa came to our house!
We had a very blessed 2012. As busy as it was, I hope that 2013 is busier. Lots to do means lots of memories to make.
