Anna - 12 Months Old

Anna had her 12 month check up back in December but that turned into a sick visit so we postponed her official well check until she was....well.  So, of course, that took us into mid-January.  But, who's counting, right?  The shots were horrible.  She was so pitiful and rubbing her leg where the injections were given.  Poor little baby.  But, milestone-wise, she's perfect!  I could have told you that!

She met all her milestones - clapping, banging toys together, drinking from a sippy cup (never thought that was going to happen), cruising around furniture.

Just like Caroline, she's already on allergy medicines.  Poor little girl stays congested.  We think whole milk may have a little something to do with it, so she is currently on soy milk.  We tried cutting dairy out completely but that didn't seem to make much of a difference.  But, we still stuck to the soy milk.

Anna is generally a happy baby, but we do have some bad days, too.  She's been taking one nap a day since she was about 8 months old only while at school.  That can make for some very bad evenings.  But, she is an incredibly light sleeper and every little noise wakes her up.  If it weren't for a uniform nap time in her class, who knows if she'd even sleep there.  Thankfully, she's an excellent sleeper at night.

Stats:
Weight: 20 lbs. 1 oz (20%, but probably is skewed, because that was after 1 week of the stomach bug and 1 week of a major chest cold)
Height: 29.75 in (50%)

Milestones:
  • Very, very fast crawler and is always fidgeting and is SO SO SO close to walking; can stand up by herself for a long period of time and can take about 8 steps by herself
  • Has no problem walking around furniture (started 7 months old)
  • Eats table foods like a champ - ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING (started 9 months old)
  • Drinks out of a sippy cup completely (started at 12.5 months old)
  • Solely on breastmilk until 8 months old; breastmilk/formula mix from 8-11 months old/soymilk at 11 months old
  • Not much of a talker;  more of a pointer and grunter.  Working very hard on this, though.  Can say: mama, dada, nine-nine (for Caroline, we think), night-night, uh-oh, shakes/nods her head no/yes
  • Can sign: more, milk, eat (her favorite), all done, night-night and please
  • In the Infant 2 room at school; will move up when she's a walker
  • Wears mostly 12 month clothes, some 9 month clothes, some 18 month clothes
  • Has 2 top teeth, 3 bottom teeth, 1 molar (???), and cutting 2 side teeth
  • Has plenty of hair for a hairbow but refuses to wear one
Likes:
  • Food, food and more food.  This girl would eat all day if I would let her.  I'm starting to worry that she doesn't know when she's full!
  • When her daddy comes home from work...happy girl!
  • Music!!!  This little sweetie LOVES to dance
  • Being held all the time
  • Her push toy, lovey "Lamby" and her paci
  • School - her BFF is Taylor - hope they stay that way!
  • Being outside
  • Stairs at Grandmama & Granddandy's house
  • Playing with my nesting bowls
  • Putting smaller objects into bigger bowls
  • Being carried around by Caroline
  • Brushing her teeth
Dislikes:
  • White meat (she is her mothers child)
  • Getting taken out from her high chair; usually I just have to lay her directly on the floor to have a fit as she slides out of the high chair from bowing out of it because she gets so angry
  • Having her face/nose/hands wiped down
